Description
Za’atar Manakish is a traditional Levantine flatbread topped with za’atar spice mix.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon active dry yeast
- 1/4 cup za’atar spice mix
- 1/4 cup additional olive oil for topping
Instructions
- Combine warm water, sugar, and yeast in a bowl. Let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Add flour, salt, and olive oil. Mix to form a dough.
- Knead the dough for 5-10 minutes until smooth.
- Cover the dough and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 475°F (245°C).
- Roll out the dough into flat rounds.
- Brush rounds with olive oil and sprinkle with za’atar.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden.
- Serve warm.

- Use fresh za’atar for best flavor.
- Adjust olive oil to your taste.
