Light and airy meringue cookies perfect for Valentine’s Day.
Ingredients

- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- Food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C).
- In a clean bowl, beat egg whites until foamy.
- Add cream of tartar and continue to beat until soft peaks form.
- Gradually add sugar while beating until stiff peaks form.
- Mix in vanilla and almond extract.
- If using, add food coloring and gently fold it in.
- Drop spoonfuls of meringue onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 1.5 hours or until cookies are dry and easily lift off the paper.
- Turn off the oven and let cookies cool inside for an hour.

- Use fresh eggs for better volume.
