Description
A sweet and nutty pastry made with layers of phyllo dough, filled with pistachios, and soaked in syrup.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 package of phyllo dough
- 2 cups of finely chopped pistachios
- 1 cup of unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 cup of water
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a baking dish with melted butter.
- Layer phyllo dough in the dish, brushing each layer with butter.
- Spread pistachios evenly over the phyllo layers.
- Cover with more phyllo, brushing each layer with butter.
- Cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes until golden brown.
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, vanilla, and lemon juice; bring to a boil.
- Simmer for 10 minutes and pour over baked baklava.
- Let it cool before serving.
