Description

Thekua Spiced Cookies are traditional Indian cookies made with whole wheat flour, jaggery, and spices. They are crunchy and flavorful, perfect for tea time.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1 cup jaggery, grated
  • 1/2 cup coconut, grated
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/4 cup ghee (clarified butter)
  • 1 tsp ginger powder
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour, jaggery, coconut, ginger powder, cardamom powder, and salt.
  2. Melt ghee and add it to the mixture.
  3. Add water little by little to form a dough.
  4. Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and flatten them slightly.
  7. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let them cool before serving.
