Description

Sticky Toffee Pudding is a rich dessert made with dates and covered in a sweet toffee sauce.


Ingredients

  • 200g dates, pitted and chopped
  • 250ml boiling water
  • 100g unsalted butter, softened
  • 150g brown sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 200g all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Soak the chopped dates in boiling water for 10 minutes.
  3. In a bowl, cream together the butter and brown sugar.
  4. Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  5. Stir in the flour, baking powder, and vanilla extract.
  6. Add the soaked dates along with the water and mix until combined.
  7. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a skewer comes out clean.

Notes

  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
