- 2 pounds fresh mussels
- 1 cup coconut milk
- 2 stalks lemongrass, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Clean the mussels under cold water.
- In a pot, combine coconut milk, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, and chili flakes.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the mussels to the pot and cover with a lid.
- Steam the mussels for 5-7 minutes until they open.
- Discard any mussels that do not open.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.

- Adjust chili flakes according to your spice preference.
- Serve with crusty bread to soak up the broth.
