Ingredients

  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 2 stalks lemongrass, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon fish sauce
  • 1 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Clean the mussels under cold water.
  2. In a pot, combine coconut milk, lemongrass, garlic, ginger, fish sauce, and chili flakes.
  3. Bring the mixture to a simmer over medium heat.
  4. Add the mussels to the pot and cover with a lid.
  5. Steam the mussels for 5-7 minutes until they open.
  6. Discard any mussels that do not open.
  7. Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
