Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 4 cups beef broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 2 cups uncooked pasta
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat.
  2. Add the onion and garlic, cooking until soft.
  3. Stir in the crushed tomatoes, beef broth, water, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes.
  4. Bring to a boil, then add the uncooked pasta.
  5. Cook until pasta is tender, about 10 minutes.
  6. Stir in the ricotta cheese until melted.
  7. Serve hot, topped with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
  • Substitute ground turkey for a lighter option.
