Ingredients

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 slice white bread
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon chutney
  • 1 tablespoon apricot jam
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/4 cup raisins
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Bay leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. Soak the bread in milk and set aside.
  3. In a pan, sauté onion and garlic until soft.
  4. Add minced beef and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in curry powder, chutney, apricot jam, vinegar, raisins, salt, and pepper.
  6. Mix in the soaked bread and remove from heat.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish.
  8. In a bowl, whisk eggs and remaining milk, then pour over the meat mixture.
  9. Top with bay leaves.
  10. Bake for 30-40 minutes until set and golden.
