Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated carrots
  • 1/4 cup chopped onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 egg (or flax egg for vegan option)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or prepare your grill.
  2. In a large bowl, combine lentils, breadcrumbs, grated carrots, onions, garlic, smoked paprika, cumin, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  3. Add olive oil and egg to the mixture, and mix well.
  4. Form the mixture into patties.
  5. Place the patties on a baking sheet or grill.
  6. Bake for 25 minutes or grill for 6-8 minutes on each side until cooked through.
  7. Serve on a bun with your favorite toppings.
