Description
Sarma Dolma are stuffed grape leaves filled with a savory mixture, served with a refreshing Caçik yogurt sauce.
Ingredients

- 50 grape leaves, rinsed
- 1 cup rice
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh dill, chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 2 cups vegetable broth
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 1 cucumber, grated
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a pan and sauté onions until translucent.
- Add rice, dill, parsley, salt, and pepper. Stir and cook for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let the filling cool.
- Lay one grape leaf flat. Place a spoonful of filling at the base and roll tightly.
- Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
- Place rolled leaves in a pot and add vegetable broth and lemon juice.
- Cover and simmer for 45 minutes.
- For the sauce, mix yogurt, cucumber, garlic, and salt in a bowl.
- Serve sarma with Caçik yogurt sauce on the side.
Notes
- Use fresh grape leaves if available.
- Adjust seasoning to taste.
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
