Description
These stuffed bell peppers contain ground beef and rice in tomato sauce. You bake them until the peppers soften and the cheese melts.

- 6 bell peppers
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 cup shredded cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees.
- Cut the tops off the peppers and remove the seeds.
- Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat.
- Drain the fat from the pan.
- Mix the beef with rice, tomato sauce, onion, and spices.
- Fill each pepper with the beef mixture.
- Place the peppers in a baking dish.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and top each pepper with cheese.
- Bake for 10 more minutes until the cheese melts.
Notes
- Use ground turkey for a leaner option.
- Select peppers with flat bottoms so they stand upright.
- Cook the rice before you mix it with the beef.
