Description
Capirotada is a Mexican bread pudding. You make it with bread and syrup. It has nuts and cheese.

- 4 bolillo rolls
- 2 cups water
- 8 ounces piloncillo
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 3 cloves
- 1/2 cup raisins
- 1/2 cup peanuts
- 1 cup cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Heat your oven to 350 degrees.
- Butter your baking dish.
- Boil water with piloncillo, cinnamon, and cloves.
- Simmer the syrup for 10 minutes.
- Toast the bread slices.
- Layer bread in the dish.
- Add raisins, peanuts, and cheese.
- Repeat the layers.
- Pour syrup over the dish.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
Notes
- Use stale bread.
- Replace piloncillo with brown sugar.
- Add coconut for texture.
