Description
Pani Puri is a popular Indian snack made of hollow puris filled with spicy water and various fillings.
Ingredients
- Semolina – 1 cup
- All-purpose flour – 2 tablespoons
- Baking soda – 1/2 teaspoon
- Water – as needed
- Chickpeas – 1 cup (boiled)
- Potatoes – 2 (boiled and mashed)
- Onion – 1 (finely chopped)
- Cilantro – 1/4 cup (chopped)
- Mint leaves – 1/4 cup (chopped)
- Spices (cumin powder, chaat masala) – to taste
- Pani (spicy water) – 4 cups
Instructions
- Mix semolina, flour, and baking soda in a bowl.
- Add water gradually to form a stiff dough.
- Cover the dough and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Roll small balls of dough and flatten them into thin discs.
- Deep fry the discs in hot oil until puffed and golden brown.
- Prepare the filling by mixing boiled chickpeas, potatoes, onion, cilantro, mint, and spices.
- Take each puri, make a small hole, and fill it with the mixture.
- Serve with pani on the side for dipping.
Notes
- Ensure the oil is hot enough for frying.
- You can adjust the spice level of the pani according to your taste.
