- 2 lbs potatoes, thinly sliced
- 2 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup grated Gruyère cheese
- 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Butter for greasing the dish
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Grease a baking dish with butter.
- Layer half of the potato slices in the dish.
- Sprinkle half of the garlic, salt, and pepper over the potatoes.
- Add half of the heavy cream and half of the Gruyère cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining potatoes, garlic, salt, pepper, cream, and Gruyère cheese.
- Top with Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 45-60 minutes until the top is golden and the potatoes are tender.
- Let it rest for 10 minutes before serving.

- You can add herbs like thyme for extra flavor.
- Use a mandoline for even potato slices.
- Let the gratin cool slightly for easier serving.
