Description
Moroccan Trid is a traditional dish made with shredded pastry, lentils, and chicken.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup dried lentils
- 2 chicken thighs, cooked and shredded
- 2 cups water
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- Salt to taste
- 1 package of thin pastry sheets
- Olive oil for brushing
Instructions
- Rinse the lentils and boil them in water for 20 minutes.
- In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
- Add the shredded chicken, cooked lentils, cumin, paprika, and salt to the pan.
- Mix well and cook for another 10 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Layer the pastry sheets in a baking dish, brushing each layer with olive oil.
- Add the chicken and lentil mixture on top of the pastry.
- Cover with more pastry sheets, brushing with oil again.
- Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.
Notes
- Serve warm with a side salad.
- Adjust spices according to your taste.
- Can be made vegetarian by omitting chicken.
