Description

Moroccan Trid is a traditional dish made with shredded pastry, lentils, and chicken.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup dried lentils
  • 2 chicken thighs, cooked and shredded
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 package of thin pastry sheets
  • Olive oil for brushing

Instructions

  1. Rinse the lentils and boil them in water for 20 minutes.
  2. In a pan, sauté the onion and garlic until translucent.
  3. Add the shredded chicken, cooked lentils, cumin, paprika, and salt to the pan.
  4. Mix well and cook for another 10 minutes.
  5. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
  6. Layer the pastry sheets in a baking dish, brushing each layer with olive oil.
  7. Add the chicken and lentil mixture on top of the pastry.
  8. Cover with more pastry sheets, brushing with oil again.
  9. Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

  • Serve warm with a side salad.
  • Adjust spices according to your taste.
  • Can be made vegetarian by omitting chicken.
