Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup milk
- 3 eggs
- 2 ½ teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 2 cups buttercream frosting
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.
- In a bowl, cream the butter and sugar together.
- Add the eggs, vanilla, and milk; mix well.
- In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture.
- Pour the batter into prepared pans.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the cakes cool before frosting.
- Spread the buttercream frosting evenly on top of one cake, place the second cake on top, and frost the top and sides.
Notes
- Use room temperature ingredients for better mixing.
- Store the cake in a cool place.
- Feel free to add food coloring to the frosting for a pop of color.
