Description

Kinako Mochi are chewy rice cakes coated with roasted soy flour.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup glutinous rice
  • 1/4 cup kinako (roasted soy flour)
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

  1. Soak glutinous rice in water for 4 hours.
  2. Drain and steam the rice for 30 minutes.
  3. Mash the steamed rice until smooth.
  4. Shape the rice into small cakes.
  5. Mix kinako and sugar in a bowl.
  6. Coat the rice cakes with the kinako mixture.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container.
  • Serve with additional kinako if desired.
  • Can be made vegan by omitting sugar.
