Description

Karahi Gosht is a traditional Pakistani dish made with meat and spices, cooked in a wok-like pan called a karahi.


Ingredients

  • 1 kg mutton, cut into pieces
  • 4 tablespoons oil
  • 2 large onions, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 2 green chilies, slit
  • 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 1 teaspoon coriander powder
  • 1 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh coriander for garnish

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a karahi over medium heat.
  2. Add the onions and sauté until golden brown.
  3. Stir in the ginger-garlic paste and cook for a minute.
  4. Add mutton pieces and cook until browned.
  5. Add tomatoes, green chilies, cumin seeds, coriander powder, red chili powder, and salt.
  6. Cover and let it cook on low heat until the meat is tender.
  7. Once cooked, sprinkle garam masala on top.
  8. Garnish with fresh coriander.
  9. Serve hot with naan or rice.

  • For a richer flavor, use ghee instead of oil.
