Halal Chicken Biryani is a flavorful rice dish made with marinated chicken and aromatic spices.
Ingredients

- 2 cups basmati rice
- 500 grams chicken, cut into pieces
- 1 large onion, sliced
- 2 tomatoes, chopped
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1-inch ginger, grated
- 1/2 cup yogurt
- 1/4 cup cooking oil
- 2 teaspoons biryani masala
- 1 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 4 cups water
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken with yogurt, garlic, ginger, turmeric, biryani masala, and salt for at least 30 minutes.
- Heat oil in a pot and sauté onions until golden brown.
- Add marinated chicken and cook until browned.
- Add tomatoes and cook until soft.
- In a separate pot, boil water and add basmati rice with salt.
- Cook rice until it’s 70% done, then drain.
- Add the partially cooked rice to the chicken pot and mix gently.
- Cover the pot and cook on low heat for 20 minutes.
- Garnish with fresh cilantro before serving.
Notes
- Use long-grain basmati rice for the best texture.
- Adjust spices according to your taste.
- Let the biryani rest for 10 minutes before serving for better flavor.
