- 1 whole chicken (about 4 lbs)
- 1/4 cup gochujang
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
- In a bowl, mix gochujang, melted butter, soy sauce, honey, garlic, black pepper, and salt.
- Rub the mixture all over the chicken, making sure to get under the skin.
- Place the chicken in a roasting pan.
- Roast the chicken for 1 hour and 15 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
- Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving.
Notes
- Use a meat thermometer to check the chicken’s doneness.
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less gochujang.
- Serve with rice or vegetables for a complete meal.
