Description

Gajar ka Halwa is a traditional Indian dessert made from grated carrots, milk, sugar, and nuts.


Ingredients

  • 500g carrots, grated
  • 1 liter full-fat milk
  • 200g sugar
  • 100g ghee (clarified butter)
  • 50g cashews, chopped
  • 50g almonds, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp cardamom powder

Instructions

  1. Heat ghee in a heavy pan.
  2. Add grated carrots and sauté for 5-7 minutes.
  3. Pour in the milk and bring to a boil.
  4. Reduce the heat and simmer until the milk thickens.
  5. Add sugar and cook until it dissolves.
  6. Stir in cardamom powder and mixed nuts.
  7. Cook for another 5 minutes and serve hot.

Notes

  • You can adjust the sugar to taste.
  • For extra flavor, add some khoya or condensed milk.
  • Serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for a twist.
