- 4 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1/4 cup grated cheese (cheddar, Gruyère, etc.)
- Optional: 1 tablespoon chopped fresh chives, pinch of nutmeg, sprinkle of paprika
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a standard 12-cup muffin tin with melted butter.
- Unfold thawed puff pastry onto a lightly floured surface; gently roll to about 10×12 inches.
- Using a 3.5-inch round cutter, cut out 12 circles. Gently press each circle into a muffin cup.
- In a medium bowl, whisk eggs, milk, heavy cream, salt, and pepper until combined.
- Stir in grated cheese and any optional additions.
- Carefully pour egg filling into each puff pastry-lined muffin cup, filling about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until pastry is golden and puffed, and filling is set.
- Remove from oven, let cool in tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Serve warm or at room temperature.

- Ensure puff pastry is very cold when working with it for best flakiness.
- Refrigerate leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
