Description

Black Mushroom Rice made with dried mushrooms.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white rice
  • 1 cup dried djon djon mushrooms
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Rinse the rice under cold water until the water runs clear.
  2. Soak the dried mushrooms in warm water for 30 minutes.
  3. Heat olive oil in a pot over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until soft.
  4. Add soaked mushrooms and their soaking water to the pot.
  5. Stir in the rice and salt, and bring to a boil.
  6. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove from heat and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can adjust the salt based on your preference.
  • Serve with grilled chicken or vegetables.
  • Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
