- 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
- 1/4 cup cornstarch
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- Green onions for garnish
Instructions
- Marinate the beef slices in soy sauce for 15 minutes.
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch and flour. Dip marinated beef into beaten egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
- Fry the beef until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
- In a separate pan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, orange zest, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- Add fried beef to the sauce and toss to coat.
- Serve hot, garnished with green onions.
Notes
- Adjust sugar based on your sweetness preference.
- For a spicier version, add more red pepper flakes.
