  • 1 lb beef flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon grated orange zest
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Marinate the beef slices in soy sauce for 15 minutes.
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch and flour. Dip marinated beef into beaten egg, then coat with the flour mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the beef until golden and crispy, about 3-4 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a separate pan, combine orange juice, sugar, soy sauce, rice vinegar, orange zest, garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  6. Add fried beef to the sauce and toss to coat.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with green onions.
