Ingredients

- 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream together butter, white sugar, and brown sugar.
- Add eggs and vanilla to the butter mixture and blend well.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients.
- Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts.
- Drop by spoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheets.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until golden brown.
- Cool on wire racks.
Notes
- Store cookies in an airtight container.
- For a festive touch, add colored sprinkles on top before baking.
- Can substitute chocolate chips with M&Ms.
