Description

A spicy and cheesy toast popular in Mumbai.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 1 cup grated cheese
  • 1/2 cup chopped onions
  • 1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup chopped capsicum
  • 2 green chilies, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Butter for spreading

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (392°F).
  2. In a bowl, mix cheese, onions, tomatoes, capsicum, green chilies, red chili powder, black pepper, and salt.
  3. Spread butter on one side of each bread slice.
  4. Place the bread slices butter-side down on a baking tray.
  5. Spread the cheese mixture evenly on top of the bread slices.
  6. Bake for 10-15 minutes until the cheese melts and turns golden.
  7. Remove from the oven and cut into pieces.
  8. Serve hot.

Notes

  • Use any bread of your choice.
  • Adjust the amount of chilies based on your spice preference.
  • Garnish with coriander if desired.
