Description
Crispy fried calamari served with a spicy marinara sauce.
Ingredients

- 1 lb calamari, cleaned and sliced
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 cup buttermilk
- Vegetable oil for frying
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
Instructions
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F.
- In a bowl, mix flour, salt, pepper, and paprika.
- Dip calamari in buttermilk, then coat in flour mixture.
- Fry calamari in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes.
- Drain on paper towels.
- In a small saucepan, heat marinara sauce and stir in red pepper flakes.
- Serve calamari hot with spicy marinara sauce on the side.
Notes
- Adjust spice level by adding more or less red pepper flakes.
- Serve with lemon wedges for extra flavor.
