Description

A classic bread pudding made with stale bread, eggs, milk, and spices.


Ingredients

  • 6 cups of stale bread, cubed
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 4 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup of sugar
  • 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the bread cubes with milk and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
  4. Add the egg mixture to the soaked bread and mix well.
  5. If using, fold in the raisins.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until set and golden brown.
  8. Let it cool slightly before serving.
