Description
A classic bread pudding made with stale bread, eggs, milk, and spices.
Ingredients
Scale
- 6 cups of stale bread, cubed
- 2 cups of milk
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup of sugar
- 1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of salt
- 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, mix the bread cubes with milk and let it soak for about 15 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.
- Add the egg mixture to the soaked bread and mix well.
- If using, fold in the raisins.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until set and golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm or at room temperature.
- Can be topped with whipped cream or a drizzle of caramel sauce.
