Description

A Bombay Sandwich is a popular Indian street food made with layers of chutney, spiced potatoes, and fresh cucumber.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 2 medium potatoes, boiled and mashed
  • 1 cucumber, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup green chutney
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Spread butter on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. On the unbuttered side, spread a layer of green chutney.
  3. Spread the mashed potatoes evenly over the chutney.
  4. Add a layer of cucumber slices on top of the potatoes.
  5. Sprinkle salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Cover with another slice of bread, chutney side down.
  7. Heat a pan and grill the sandwich until golden brown on both sides.
  8. Cut into triangles and serve hot.

Notes

  • Use white or whole wheat bread as per your preference.
  • Adjust the spice level in the chutney if needed.
