Description
You make a crisp sandwich with basil pesto and melted cheese on sourdough bread.
Ingredients

- 2 slices sourdough bread
- 1 tablespoon butter
- 2 tablespoons basil pesto
- 2 slices provolone cheese
- 0.25 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions
- Butter one side of each bread slice.
- Spread pesto on the other side of each slice.
- Place one slice butter-side down in a skillet over medium heat.
- Layer provolone and mozzarella on the bread.
- Place the second bread slice on top with the butter-side up.
- Cook until the bottom turns golden brown.
- Flip the sandwich.
- Cook until the cheese melts and the bread is toasted.
Notes
- Use cast iron for even browning.
- Wait for the pan to heat before adding bread.
- Swap provolone for white cheddar.
